If you're serious about hunting or precision shooting in Australia, you already know the right gear can make all the difference. At AussieKnives.com, we believe in gear that performs—and the SunwayFoto inverted-leg carbon fibre tripods are among the most exciting innovations hitting the market right now.

What Is an Inverted-Leg Tripod?

Traditional tripod designs hinge at the thickest part of the leg segment (furthest from the head), with the narrower sections at the base. In contrast, inverted-leg tripods are hinged closer to the head at a thinner section, meaning when folded or extended, the wider, stronger leg sections are at the ground.
Benefits of SunwayFoto Inverted-Leg Tripods for Hunters & Shooters

Here are the reasons why these tripods are such a strong fit for Aussie conditions and users:

SunwayFoto Hunting Series: The Ultimate Carbon Fiber Tripod for Australian Hunters

When it comes to stability, precision, and reliability in the field, Australian hunters know that their gear can make or break the shot. Whether you’re stalking deer in the Victorian high country, calling foxes in the paddocks of NSW, or setting up for long-range shots in the NT outback, a dependable tripod is essential. That’s where the SunwayFoto Hunting Series carbon fiber tripods come in—designed with hunters and shooters in mind, combining lightweight portability with rock-solid stability.

Why Australian Hunters Need a Carbon Fiber Hunting Tripod

Unlike standard camera tripods, hunting tripods must withstand rugged terrain, sudden weather changes, and the recoil of high-powered rifles. The SunwayFoto Hunting Series is engineered specifically for these challenges:

Lightweight Carbon Fiber Construction – Easy to carry all day, even when hiking into remote country.

Exceptional Stability – Holds rifles, spotting scopes, or thermal imaging devices steady in windy conditions.

Quick Deployment – Smooth, silent leg adjustments mean less movement and noise when game is nearby.

Heavy Load Capacity – Built to support modern hunting rifles, from lightweight varmint rigs to heavy precision setups.

In Australia, where hunting often involves walking long distances and setting up in uneven, rocky, or sandy terrain, this combination of strength and portability is a game changer.

SunwayFoto vs Other Hunting Tripods

Many hunters have relied on aluminium tripods for years, but carbon fiber provides a clear advantage:

Compared to other imported brands, SunwayFoto delivers exceptional value, offering premium features at a price point accessible to the Australian market.

Perfect for Hunting, Shooting & Spotting

The SunwayFoto Hunting Series isn’t just for rifle shooting. It’s equally effective for:

There is currently an interim ban in place on the sale of machetes across Victoria. This ban was made under the Australian Consumer Law and came into effect from 12 midday on Wednesday 28 May 2025.

You cannot sell a machete in or into Victoria, both in store and online. From 1 September, new laws will ban the possession, use and sale of machetes in Victoria.

There are no exemptions while the interim ban is in place.

Later this year, legislation will come into effect to introduce a permanent ban on the possession, use, and sale of machetes in Victoria under Control of Weapons laws.

What are banned machetes?
